Keokuk Community School District

KCSD to continue national Summer Meal Program

The Keokuk Community School District will once again offer the Summer Meal Program from June 3-July 26 Monday through Friday as part of the National School Lunch Program, which is the Summer Food Service Program run through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

“This is another way that we as a district can help combat food insecurity in our community,” Sarah Hackett, KCSD Food Services director, said. “This program helps to close a gap in available food for children during the summer.”

Meals are available at the Keokuk Middle School, 2002 Orleans Avenue, and the district is partnered with the Salvation Army to also provide off campus meals at Kilbourne Park at 20th and Bank Street, Keokuk Park Apartments at 868 Johnson Street Road, and Triangle Park at Fifth and Grand Avenue.

Meals are available to all children ages two to 18 and no identification needed, adults may purchase meals for $4.85 only at KMS. All meals must be consumed on site.
