KHS Choirs showcase talents at Pops Concert

The Pops Concert showcased KHS students from the Keokuk High School Concert Choir and Purple Harmony Show Choir at the KHS Pops Concert on March 5 at the Grand Theater in Keokuk, Iowa.

The Concert Choir performed Broadway musicals, including “Seasons of Love” from the musical “Rent,” “Corner of the Sky” from the musical “Pippin’,” “Pick-a-Little, Talk-a-Little, Goodnight Ladies” from the musical “Music Man,” and “Heart of Stone” from the musical “Six.” Also, Purple Harmony performed “I Like to Dance,” “Let’s Dance,” “Life of the Party,” “Kaboom Pow” and “Until the Last Beat Drops.”

Several students performed solos and the choirs were under the direction of Jason Woodley and choreographed by Anne Chapman and Mike Weaver. Seniors that were honored included Brett Atterberg, Kalie Behymer, Annabel Benson, Elijah Gibbs, Wyatt Handyside, Jacob Farrell, Abigal Killoren, Adyan O’Connor, Joselynn Mallonnee, Jocelyn Marshall, Kyla Muston, Eden Schilling, John Sell and Mehl Wright.
