Atterberg signs with Carl Sandburg College for basketball

Keokuk High School senior Camryn Atterberg has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at the collegiate level at Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Illinois. The signing day was held on March 24 at Keokuk High School.

“She’s been a fantastic player for our program and she’s going to fit in great at Carl Sandberg,” Matt McGhghy, KHS Varsity Girl’s Basketball coach, said about Atterberg. “She’s another quality player from Keokuk High School.”

Atterberg was captain her senior year and made the First Team All Conference and Academic All Conference for the 2024-25 season. She is ranked first in the Southeast Conference and 11th in Class 4A in rebounds.

Although, McGhghy added that Atterberg is a student first and her mother, Hawley Atterberg, said Camryn intends to major in dental hygiene.

“I’m excited for her next chapter,” Hawley Davis, Atterberg’s mother, said. “And her grandpa gets to keep watching basketball.”
