Brenton Hoard signs to play football at Upper Iowa University

Keokuk High School senior Brenton Hoard signed to play football on Feb. 19 at Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa.

Hoard was a quarterback as a Chief and led the team and was ranked fourth in class 3A both in touchdowns in the 2024 season, with seven touchdowns during the 2024 Homecoming game against Fort Madison. Also, he earned the Keokuk Football 2024-25 season All Academic award.

Hoard previously attended football camps at Upper Iowa and knew he liked the coaches and the school, he plans to major in accounting and business.

There was quite a bit of chatter at the signing surrounding the amount of Chief’s fans and friends and family that plan to attend Hoard’s games when Upper Iowa plays at Quincy University and Truman State University next fall.
