Keokuk High School hosted a signing day for senior Ada Wood to play softball for Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at noon on Dec. 3. Wood ha a huge grin as she signed on to officially become an Eagle in the fall of 2025.
Wood, who has played on varsity since joining the KHS team the summer after eighth grade, had 149 strikeouts in the 2024 season and has had more than 400 strikeouts total as a Chief so far. Her fifth and final season with KHS will be in the summer of 2025 before heading to Kirkwood.
Wood was chosen as the WGEM Player of the Week in 2022, even though Wood had surgery after tearing her labrum and bicep, and was limited in pitching that season.
