KHS seniors chosen for Iowa All-State Music Festival

Keokuk High School seniors Carter Killoren and Ethan Totten have been selected for the prestigious 2025 Iowa All-State Music Festival.

“Carter and Ethan have attained the highest individual honor available to Iowa high school musicians,” Jason Woodley, KHS director of vocal music, said. Both students “were selected for this prestigious honor through a highly competitive audition process.”

Killoren and Totten auditioned for the state-wide 277-member All-State Band, 220-member All-State Orchestra and 601-member All-State Chorus on Oct. 25. Less than 20 percent of Iowa high school students that audition are selected for the festival.

Rehearsals for the festival will be held in Ames on Nov. 21–22 and the All-State Festival Concert will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22 in the Hilton Coliseum at Iowa State University, in Ames. Iowa PBS will record the concert for a later broadcast. Broadcast dates and times will be available at iowapbs.org. All seats are reserved for the event and tickets are $30 each and will go on sale at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 28, through Ticketmaster at ticketmaster.com. Ticketmaster will apply a per-ticket convenience fee.

The Iowa All-State Music Festival is presented under the Iowa High School Music Association (IHSMA) and the Iowa Music Educators Association (IMEA).

Killoren’s parents are Nicki and Eric Dochterman and Totten’s parents are Julie and Matthew Totten.
