The Keokuk Chiefs are set to “Bring Down B-Town” at this year’s Homecoming game on Sept. 18 after a week’s worth of activities.

The Homecoming Week, Sept. 14-18, schedule:

• Monday, Sept 14: Meme Day (or silver), come dressed as your favorite meme
• Tuesday, Sept. 15: 80s vs. Y2K, are you ready to rock the 80s or bring back the Y2K vibes
• Wednesday, Sept. 16: Disney vs. Superheroes, dream big or save the day
• Thursday, Sept. 17: KHS students will wear their specially designed class shirt and KMS students will wear their favorite team shirts or jerseys.

• • PreK-5 students can wear any shirt in the following colors by class are:
    • Preschool – yellow
    • Kindergarten – blue
    • First grade – yellow
    • Second grade – green
    • Third grade – blue
    • Fourth grade – orange
    • Fifth grade – red

• KHS Field Day will be held during the school day
• 6 p.m. the Homecoming Parade will be held on Main Street starting in the mall parking lot and heading toward Calvert Stadium where the Homecoming Pep Rally will be held at Calvert Stadium.
• Friday, Sept. 18: All schools will show their Chief Pride, wear your purple and white for spirit day
  • The varsity “Bring Down B-Town” Homecoming Game against the Burlington Greyhounds starts at 7 p.m.; the Half-time show will feature presentation of Homecoming Court
• Saturday, Sept. 19: Homecoming Dance ‘Neon Nights’ for KHS Students

The Field Day at KHS will feature multiple activities from athletics to artistic activities.

The Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned at the Pep Rally on Thursday, Sept. 17, at Calvert Stadium as well as the Homecoming court will be recognized.

The rally on Sept. 17 will also feature all Fall Athletic team participants. Half-time entertainment of the game on Sept. 18 will include performances by the Marching Band, Color Guard and Little Feathers. There will also be a presentation of the Homecoming Court at half-time. The KHS Homecoming dance, Neon Nights, for KHS students will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19.

The homecoming theme and activities were largely planned by the Keokuk High School Student Council with advisor Heather Davis, a KHS teacher.
