KMS Bands Spring Concert to be held on May 7

The Keokuk Middle School to present KMS Bands Spring Concert at 7 p.m. on May 7 in the KMS Gym. The concert will feature the KMS Jazz Band, the KMS K-Det Band and the Concert Band, all with members from grades sixth through eighth at KMS.

The Jazz Band will perform “Uncle Milo’s Side Show,” featuring soloists Blessing Takorbisong on trombone and Peyson Reed on alto saxophone, “Basin Street Blues,” featuring soloist Lara Contreras on trombone, “Zack’s Zydeco Two-Step,” featuring soloists Jaleel Cooper on tenor sax, Ezza Matlick on piano and Wil Mossengren on trumpet. The K-Det Band will perform “Radiance,” “Pastel Sunset” and “Flashpoint.” The Concert Band will perform “Sunbloom,” “At Morning’s First Light” and “Shine on Me.” And lastly, the Combined Bands will perform “Boundless Light.”

The bands are led by KMS band director Krystal Bottorff, who has been assisted by instructors James Pelini, the KHS Band Director, and Dee Brown and Woodie Brassil. The Spring Concert will be the final formal performance for the KMS bands this school year and eighth grade band members will be recognized.

There is no admission charge and the public is invited to attend.
