Transportation honors district students for helping to improve safety on buses

George Washington Elementary students worked with the district’s Transportation department on Bus Evacuation Drills and students on all of the district buses have worked on safety and proper bus behaviors throughout the school year! Recently, the Brown Bus was chosen as the most improved on safety and behaviors and 20 riders were rewarded with eating at McDonald’s.
We had fun with Mrs. Morgan’s first grade class for the drills and “the students were very interactive, well behaved and learned a lot,” Dave Grogan, Transportation director, said. We received “several compliments on the students behavior and politeness while we were at McDonald’s.”
Thank you to Mr. Kevin and Ms. Val, the Brown Bus driver and bus aide, who worked hard to teach the winning riders and to Mr. Corey for driving the students to McDonald’s and Mr. Miller from Hawthorne for joining the riders.
Keep up the good work, Little Chiefs!
